finding the escape

I've never been one to blog about my "feelings," I just make observations and give very basic emotion or opinions about what I witness, but I'm considering doing a series of blogs about life questions, just so you can get a better idea about what's on my mind... and maybe to give you something to think about too

I mean, aren't thoughts in general
meant to be shared?

We've all had at least one teacher in the duration of our academic careers say : "ask questions in class, because someone might have the same question as you do but are too afraid to speak up"
So here is the first one of the potential series my pilot episode, if you will.
My first question for you, reader, is : How do you escape?
I mean to say, how do you take a breather from all the stuff going on in your life?
(like homework, school, friends, parents, etc.)
After dealing with everyone and everything else,
How do you escape... to yourself?

I thought about it; sometimes I don't event think I brush my teeth for myself anymore because I'm so stuck in a routine. Last week I decided to step out of the routine, leave everything and everyone behind so I could just "see" myself again.
I went (by myself) to the DIA very determined to become completely lost; I found this crazy mirror and felt... like just myself.
I had no where else to be, no one to talk to,
no one to keep in tempo with, just me.
I would totally try on one of those helmets.
We are surrounded by so many people all day,
sometimes I think people can forget what it feels like
to just be alone. And it's not that I don't like people; I love being surrounded by others to talk to and to work with, but this experience was completely my own and it was incredibly freeing.

oreo hat combo

I actually purchased this hat a while ago on my adventure to the mall with my friend Wade (when we saw
Tim Gunn) but I figured now would be a good time to introduce you all to my festive cool winter-time hat because it's been cooling down outside. Now that the weather is getting cold enough, I can wear a winterish hat appropriately...

(I'm sorry hat people, but why wear a furry knit hat in the summer?
your hair must get so gross... *shivers*)

In other news:
As I was walking up the stairs to get to class, I made a horrific discovery...
a lone Halloween Oreo stranded on the stair case!
[Dude, I'm not even kidding you! Who does that?]
Perhaps one the most glorified cookie treats of all time was abandoned, left only to be stepped on... and to make a crumbly mess.
The worst part is, it's a freaking oreo! Every time I pass it I think to myself:

"Oh dude, I totally would eat that if some jerk didn't leave it on the floor...
also, who was that guy trying to lure up the stairs
and for what purpose?"

blue hair time

The pink in my hair had started to become really faded, so I asked my friend Ryan if she wouldn't mind helping my change it up!
(FYI - she has a small arsenal of colors of hair dye.)

The trend here at school is pink hair, but I wasn't feeling it anymore. I wanted something bright and me so I went with blue...
and also, kinda cause i wanted
to look like this guy
[lolz, I just kid you my fools!]

Remaking Red Dawn

Something was going down here at the Taubman Center this week, and after a little investigating I (your very own super sleuth) figured it out...
through rumors and eye witness accounts.
My first clue were these signs... and then the rumors started. Turns out, a film crew were housing costumes and used the Taubman Center as a wardrobe/changing area for the extras in a film. [here is a hint]

Extras of no-name actors flooded the outside of the building to smoke... and I could have stood around to have a smoke with them... if I smoked or didnt have more important places to be at the time. To be honest, the excitement really only lasted a day or two but the experience will last a life time. It's surreal to get off the elevator and come face to face with a military jeep chilling outside of the door.
So what is this film? Why, it's a remake of the 1984 orginal Red Dawn.

Also, Remember the adorable fat kid from the Amanda Show on Nickelodeon? He is in this movie! That's right, Josh Peck is in this one, ladies...
oh come on, he's kind of hot now. Kinda.
It was rumored he was actually here filming, but I never saw him so we will have to wait for the movie to come out to confirm.

some carpie diem

I needed to get away from school and some personal stuff, so I went out to lunch with my old friend, Paul. And we seize the day.

It all began at a local Panera.
I ordered my food under my own name,
but Paul ordered his under the name "Edward."
Well, why not?

After some delicious soup in a bread bowl, we made our way to Target to checkout what was happening with Halloween!

As I fit my bod into a child's candy corn costume, Paul was getting into some mischief of his own...

Chicken Costume anyone?

Paul all up and ran around the Halloween
section of Target like a champion.

Today I learned to it's alright let some things go and come what may,
enjoy every part of the time you spend living your day.
Also, there is a conservatory behind Target! Craziness!

tim gunn spotting

Last Saturday, I went out for a shopping day with my friend, Wade, to the biggest mall near our college...

Parking was unusually difficult, and when we walked into the mall there were people swarming around a stage. Who was on the stage?

Freakin' Tim Gunn
was on that stage.

[that's right, I was given fashion tips by the master of chiqué]

pink hair time

Dying my hair pink was an adventure unlike any other... [okay, not really]
But it was an adventure, nonetheless. First came the bleaching... [as seen on right hand side]

which didn't turn out too bad, actually!
Next came the dye...which refused to come off of my fingers for sometime. Lastly, the result :
PINK HAIR which was supposed to be purple but the hair dye was really sucky so it just turned pink which was fine but stiiiiillllllllll

I looked pretty B.A.
(well, no, for me you guys... not in general)
Hair was dyed pink the second or third week of September 2009)
